"Never did have a head for the stuff. One little drink and I'm a goner." Well, it was true, though not the way that Bella might think. With a smile Eris realized she was growing tired of the cat and mouse game, in this small room the girls blood and heartbeat were so much more persistent. It was like they knew she was there and they were demanding her attention. To be honest the woman had never turned another, she never felt she found someone worthy, but this girl, this girl was different.
"Sorry if you are uncomfortable in here alone with me, but if you go back out there without me you won't last a minute. Who knows if it is fear or respect, but those outside don't mess with me or those I am with. The main reason you are uncomfortable is not many humans can stand being around the rest of us too long. Their instinct tells them that they are no longer on the top of the food change. Thank goodness you can get over that mortal silliness with just a bite." Eris talked to Bella the same way she'd been talking to her the entire night. She was calm, soft spoken, and she could have easily been talking about the weather. The vampire just figured if the girl ran, then at least there would be the fun of a chase. Right at that moment the waitress walked in with another drink, leaving it on the table in front of Bella and walking back out. This gave the girl time to let things sink it, Eris simply sat back and toyed with her necklace.

Though Eris had explained why she wasn't drinking, Bella still felt uncomfortable because Eris managed to realize she was feeling that way. She was going to say something when Eris spoke up, saying some very odd things. Her mouth was still open as she let the words sink in, her eyebrows contorted in confusion. The waitress came in, but she didn't bother looking up.
She took the glass and downed the drink. Her brain made the connections. The age thing...the 'mortal' thing...and the 'bite' thing. She let the drink settle before she turned to Eris. "So what you're telling me is...you're some sort of immortal?" She tried to decipher whether it was fact or if the woman she'd met was a loony. She stood up and closed her eyes, unsure of what else to say. She wanted to leave, and yet something was holding her back.

The pale woman grinned, eyes sparkling with enjoyment. She didn't like that the girl was uncomfortable, but she loved that her heart was racing. "Not just any, a vampire. No offense to the furry ones but that's hardly the life." She laughed, she got along fine with all of the lycanths that she knew, she just didn't see them as strong as the vampire race.
Eris knew this girl thought she was crazy, how could she not. People these days were so close minded and rational. "I am being truthful. I was born in what you now call the year 439 BCE in Sparta. I have seen many things since then, been around the world multiple times, and finally settled here, though I do enjoy traveling still. I sleep in a coffin, simply because it does an excellent job at keeping out the little rays of sunlight. Crosses, garlic, holy water, these things do nothing to me. If you behead me, I die, stake to the heart, I die. Silver doesn't feel too great against the skin either. I have watched civilizations rise and fall, and I've been alone for most of it. I brought you back here to make the offer of your lifetime. I can give you the gift of immortality. If you chose to refuse, that is fine. I will stand up and walk out, but remember what I said before about the others in the club." She sat silently for a moment, letting it all sink in. "Would you like another drink?" It was as if she'd never just brought up the fact she was over two thousand years old.

Bella sat back down as Eris continued to talk. Thoughts were racing through her head, mainly vampire movies. She loved them. Granted, she never thought they could be real, as much as she hoped they could be, but this situation seemed oddly like a scene out of one. She shook her head as a 'no' towards the offering of another drink as she let more of the words sink in. She looked over at Eris in disbelief.
It took her a bit for the words to form, they seemed to be stuck in her throat. She let out a frustrated sigh. She either could stay with the woman who called herself a vampire or go back into the crowd that, as she now recalled, looked at her like she was a piece of meat, literally. "So...you can...you can...turn me?" She gulped, "Or I can go back out there and probably not make it out alive?" She let out another sigh, "Great choices."
She loved the thought of being a vampire, at least, one in the movies. But this wasn't the movies. Were they the same? She doubted it. Did she want to live forever? Or, apparently, did she want to live only a few minutes more. Why the hell did she come into this damn bar?

The vampire smiled softly and spoke up once more. "There is no probably about it dear, you won't even be able to find the door before something has you by the throat. I know it's not the easiest decision to make, but at least I have given you as much. Not all of us are so lucky you know. I have chosen you though, I have never changed another, never felt I had found someone that possessed the traits I was looking for in a deserving mortal. You have a strength in you I have not seen in quite some time, and for that I admire you and have chosen to offer you this gift. I know there must be thousands of questions racing through your mind, feel free to ask anything. I still have plenty of time."
Eris sat back against the couch again, fingers twirling a piece of hair. She looked mortal as she sat there and she looked every bit of seventeen, the age she had died. The sofa seemed to swallow her small form, everything about her seemed young, except the two black eyes gazing out from behind the tendrils of hair that had fallen from her victory rolls. Only her eyes spoke her age, only they spoke of everything they had seen. She never moved as she waited for Bella to put voice to the questions running rampant in her mind, she simply sat as if she were a statue, thinking about how the night might turn out.

Yes, it was true, Bella did have a lot of questions. But if there was one thing she hated, that was playing this type of game. She stood up once more and looked Eris in the eye. "Well, if those are my options, there is no point delaying the inevitable. Of course being human makes me more prone to choose immortality over sudden death, so do what you wish to me. I'll take it as it is." She was a bit pissed at how Eris was acting, but considering she didn't have many other options, if in fact this was truth and not craziness, then she might as well attempt to make herself less scared than she was feeling.
Immortality, here I come. Her head was high and she looked like a force to be reckoned with. At least I'll have time to travel. And I've always liked the night. Now that she'd rationalized everything, she actually felt a bit calmer.

A grin crossed Eris's lips, her fangs fully visible for the first time tonight. The girl amused her, she was proud, she was angry, Eris would have clapped like a giddy child if sh were anyone else. She wasn't though, she was Eris, so she continued to smile and stood up gracefully. She stalked around Bella like a cat, talking softy as she walked. "I am going to bite you, I won't kill you, I just am going to take enough so that I can give you plenty of blood back to make the transformation as quick and painless as I can." The black eyes looked into the pale blue ones above her, the moment of truth, would the girl offer herself to the vampire or bolt out the door?

Bella was a little mesmerized by her fangs. They were so...kick ass. Then she thought of how they'd sink into her and she cringed a little. She closed her eyes and let out a deep breath. She had to trust this...vampire...not to kill her. Then she had to drink blood herself. Sure she'd done that before, but just a few droplets whenever she cut herself. Nothing like this. She licked her lips, then started biting her bottom one as she undid the choker around her neck. She looked down into the cool, black eyes and seemed ready. "Well...what are you waiting for?"

Seeing the neck bared and ready sparked something in Eris, she was still cool and collected but the smell of the blood, the anticipation of the taste, hearing the girls heart beat, it all brought out that ancient lust for the feed. It was the one thing that had never changed, the one constant in her ever changing life. No more thoughts of these things though, it was time. A cold hand grabbed the girl by the back of her head and as she brought the neck to her lips she thought one thing, sending the soft message to Bella. Relax, it will be okay, I promise.
The taste of blood flooded her mouth, the warm sensation flowing down her throat, giving her that amazing high. Her cold body slowly began to warm, her milky white skin gaining a hint of life. She could have drained the last drop from the girl, but she didn't, she wouldn't have. Finally having a blood to let the girl drink plenty without letting herself get too weak Eris ended the dark kiss, pulling her head back softly.
Bella was pale, she was probably dizzy, but this wouldn't last long. Brining her own wrist to her mouth Eris bit down, and the blood she had just taken from the girl began to flow from her veins. She held it up in offering, hoping the girl would latch on quickly. "There is no turning back, drink."

Bella closed her eyes as the message was projected into her mind. She let out a breath as the fangs sunk in, wincing ever-so-slightly. She felt weakened, almost on the brink of death. It was a strange feeling and yet exhilarating somehow. She clenched her fists as she felt the blood lessening and her skin growing paler. She opened her eyes as Eris bit into her own wrist. Funny...I'm just...drinking...my own...recycled...blood... She lifted her hand to try and pull the wrist closer, hesitating briefly before she felt the blood on her lips.
The life force was going back into her; she felt a thirst. She needed the blood. She wanted it. She forcefully grabbed Eris' wrist with both of her hands as she drank more. Eris would have to stop her, Bella knew she couldn't stop herself.

Eyes shut, it was like sex to feed and be fed off of. She loved it, and so did the girl, apparently. The vampire felt her knees weaken, the girl was going to take too much if she didn't stop her. "That's enough." She tried to pull her arm back, Bella had a tight grip and didn't want to let go. If she continued Eris would be left too weak. She knew how great the blood of an ancient tasted, she had once drank from one much much older than herself and it was amazing, and to be given the gift by one? She could only imagine how Bella would react to her new world, but she would have to let go. With one final tug Eris freed her arm and smiled sweetly at the girl, handing her a tissue to wipe the blood off the corners of her mouth.
"It is done. You will die now, but don't worry, it is just your body. It will end soon enough, you have had plenty to drink and it should go quickly." All that was left was to sit and watch.

It took a lot of effort for Bella to let go, but when the blood was forced away from her, she put her hand to her stomach. It felt weird. She looked at Eris, confused at her words. They sounded frightening. She was dying. It felt annoying at first, but that feeling was soon replaced by pain. She fell onto her back, keeping herself from yelling out. Is this quick? She was starting to become numb, and she couldn't move. She could feel things shutting down inside of her. She looked up at Eris, fear in her eyes before they closed.

Eris just watched, wondering only for a moment if she should take the girl back to her grounds or wait until the mortal death was over. She shook her head and the thoughts of taking her home now from her mind, the girl would be hungry, there was nothing to feed on out there with the exception of some small animals. No, they would wait it out in the small dingy room, disgusting as it was when you really thought about it. Besides, this would be nothing compared to her own death, this one would be short.
The vampire tilted her head to the side, she looked much like a dog that had heard a strange noise. She sat in the pain filled silence for a moment before speaking softly, though in the still room the small voice seemed to boom. "Pain always seems to linger forever while moments of happiness seem to fly by all too fast. Bear with it, because I promise you it will pass, and your life after death will begin. We will go feed when it is over, and you will experience the rush again. You are nearly there, just focus on the end result." Eris smiled softly at the girl on the floor, and with a show of an emotion that almost never welled up in the woman she moved from her chair, sitting next to the girl and brushing the amazing red and black hair from her face. The strong, at times cold woman was actually feeling compassion for this frightened girl, the one caught between her own death and immortality.

Bella listened to Eris' words. They managed to comfort her, even through the pain. She gritted her teeth, keeping herself from yelling out. She opened her eyes, looking into Eris'. Her eyelashes flickered as she tried to just stare at her, she was in so much pain; she didn't want to show it though. Things were shrinking inside of her, some even dying. She couldn't breathe anymore. Then, her eyes rolled into the back of her head and there was darkness.
Was this death? Or was this just a painful step into immortality. At this point, Bella didn't know. Would she wake up? Did she just kill herself on purpose? How was she thinking? Her eyes snapped open, now such a light shade of blue they seemed silver. She sat up, trying to adjust to the new things about her. She looked at Eris, but didn't try to speak.

As soon as Bella opened her eyes, as soon as Eris saw the silver where the light blue had been, she knew, and a smile crept onto her face. It was done. She began to wonder why her own eyes hadn't changed, but the thought didn't linger, she now had a companion. There was now another of her kind she actually felt deserving of the gift. Part of Eris feared that Bella would hate her, some hated their sires for the change, but she would have to worry about this later. She knew the girl would be hungry and they didn't have much longer before this young one had to be safe and sound in the dark.
Eris stood up, taking Bella's hand to pull her to her feet. She smiled, the girls hand was as cold as her own. With a soft look she winked, "Are you ready to get a bite to eat."
