She cocked her head to the side. Kriss liked the sound of that, that she had challenged herself and rose to that challenge. She caught the defiance in her voice, and decided now was the right time to offer when she had in store for her. She looked at the floor, choosing her words carefully. Finally, she looked up and gazed at Frankii, seriousness filling her eyes. "What would you say if I told you I wasn't human? If I were an animal, cloaked by human form?" She let the question hang in the air between them. She waited a few moments for it to sink in, then launched into her next speech. "Because I am, I am a lycanth, a person who can change into an animal. And, if you wish, I can make you one too. But, it's up to you."

Frankii blinked. Oh my god! She's a werewolf... she thought. Wait....not necessarily a werewolf though. She could be any animal. And she's asking me to become one of what she is. Depends on what animal she is. Would I do it though? It'd be cool, but would I chicken out. After coming here, that would be a little pointless. Face up to the consequences. Say yes. But then, what about my brothers? What about Sam, and Ray, and Evan? Would I still get to live with them and Mum and Dad? What about my family, would they notice anything, as well. And oh sweet jesus I could become a were-animal thing. Frankii's mind was on overdrive, thoughts crowded her head, questions. STOP! She took a deep breath, and looked at Kriss. "Depends." she said evenly. "On many things, actually. I over-analyse stuff." she chuckled. "When's your...lycanth form? Is it painful? What about my family? Would I still be able to see them? Live with them? Would they notice a difference? Would I change...erm...mentally?"

Kriss blinked in surprise. She had expected Frankii to run screaming from her, and then Orion would have had to get involved. Instead, she was asking intelligent questions, making sure of what it was before she committed to it. She was in impressed. She shook her head to clear it and replied to her questions. "My animal is a clouded leopard. There is only me at the moment, there are," she counted quickly in her head. "Five wolves that I know of currently, there could be more on the way. And there is always the chance of running into a wanderer, which sometimes happens. Shifting isn't painful, it becomes much easier over time. I haven't been a lycanth for very long, but I already have good control on shifting." Then she bit her lip, wondering what to tell her about her family. She sighed and looked Frankii in the eyes. "You wouldn't be able to live with humans. Our existence is secret, the only reason I'm telling you is because I wish for you to become one. You could visit, but not for very long, they won't see a difference if you act normal. You saw how human I looked before I told you this." She took a deep breath and continued. "And you wouldn't change mentally, though you'll need control, to make sure you only shift when you want to or need to." Her eyes stared directly into Frankii's judging what her reaction would be. "Do you wish to join my ranks?" she asked, leadership written all over her face.

Frankii stared at her hands, her mind answered the question in a heart beat, and she knew that it would be the answer that came out of her mouth, even if her heart and part of her mind disagreed. Bye Ray, bye Sam, bye Evan. Bye Mum, Dad. she thought. Being a clouded leopard will be fun, I'll come visit you. When Frankii had finished thinking, she didn't look up from staring at her hands in her lap. "Yes." she said. Then she looked up, and smiled somewhat grimly. "I do." Her tone of voice was laced with sincerity, but also a hint of worry, and fear, was in there. She couldn't help wondering if it was going to be painful, what it was going to be like. She was worried and more than a little scared. But she was going to go through with it, she was brave, she could do it.
And she wasn't sure who she was trying to convince more, herself or someone else.

Kriss hadn't realized her had been holding her breath until it wooshed out in a sigh of relief. She smiled warmly at Frankii, extremely pleased by her decision. "Okay then. Now hold out your arm, and don't fight me," she ordered. Her nerves thrilled with excitement. Another leopard joining the ranks! They needed more, more lycanths had to be created. The wolves were going to overrun the lycanth community. But Kriss would only change someone who was willing, only even offer it to someone if she was sure they would say yes. Thank goodness she had gotten to Frankii before Orion had. Imagine, another wolf! And she was pretty sure he had a litter or two already, hidden somewhere in his mansion. Her thoughts returned to the task at hand, and she waited for Frankii to give her her arm, for there was only one way to create a lycanth.

Frankii lifted her arm up and held it out. She didn't need to pull her sleeve back, they only went up to her elbows anyway. Her arm trembled slightly, and Frankii focussed on getting it to stop, not the 'how much will it hurt?' feeling.
She wasn't scared. Of course not. She only closed her eyes because she felt like it. . .she managed to stop her arm from trembling, it wasn't going to help.
Her other hand, the one that she could use, the one that wasn't hanging in the air, was fiddling with her hair, which was, as usual, in a pony-tail over her shoulder, the wavy locks flowing downto just above her breasts.
"I won't." She said, her voice not even shaking. At that oint in time, Frankii was proud of the control that she had over her fear.

Kriss gingerly took Frankii's arm, brought it close to her mouth. Her lips pulled back and she quickly bit her arm, the skin breaking easily under her sharp teeth. Once she tasted the coppery flavor of blood in her mouth, Kriss quickly pulled back, inspecting the wound she had inflicted. It was small, in the form of a crescent moon, a perfect match for the shape of her teeth. It wouldn't hurt much, the change was beginning already, she could feel it. Kriss let go of her arm, and rose quickly. She headed for the door, pausing to turn back to Frankii for a moment. "Stay seated, I'll be right here if you need me. I just need to talk to Orion, so we can explain everything to you," she soothed, not wanting to frighten her by accidentally making her think she was abandoning her. She poked her head out, looking around for Orion's large form. He was still here, she knew that, she just couldn't see him at the moment. "Orion?" she called softly, knowing he would hear and come see what she needed.

Frankii trembled slightly, once, as her arm was raised to Kriss' mouth. Other than that, she sat perfectly still.
It was a small pain, but sharp and stinging. It didn't hurt much, though. She felt herself relaxing at least a little as she stared at the crescent shaped mark on her arm, blood was welling up. And though her body was sort of relaxed, she felt a fiery tension building up in her, a feeling that was pretty much indescribable.
It was change, and Frankii knew it.
She looked up and nodded at Kriss, her nervousness and more than slight fear now evident once more on her face, her body had tensed up again. What would the change be like?

Turning to catch the attention of Kriss, he knew that the change had been done, at least, the biting part, and his role was now to occur. Turning inward he let a smile meet her first. He took no time in entering, he didn't need to know what she needed, duh, he could hear all that was going on inside, strolling past Kriss he stood against the far wall away from Frankii.
What you're feeling now is only the beginning, it will burn as if you have been burned with acid, that is only temporary. You need to fight getting over-excited, or you will pass out from over exertion and we don't want that. You can change at will once the process is done, and the first change will hurt, your body has to acclimate itself to such a harsh change. You will be entitled to Kriss, as part of the Paloma pack unless she wishes to let you go as a wanderer, but that only happens with my consent. You are of a noble race now, one that is diminishing as we speak, and you will help replenish it's life. So you don't think me some sicko and try and treat me like some freak, I am Orion Kamen, Pack Master, lord of all lycanths...I am that because I am over 10,000 years old, so I have seen a lot.
He said all this with as much cool in his voice that he could muster, he liked the introductions to the packs best, but boy did stuff have to be dragged out then. He leaned back and awaited her reaction.

Frankii took that in still staring at the cut on her arm. It was only small, but it stung like hell more than it had at the start. She nodded with a vacant expression on her face, though she'd heard and understood all the words. Pain. Like, oh joy. she thought sarcastically.
That burning feeling, that was somewhat close to extreme excitement mixed with something else was building and rising. Her hands were lowered to her sides and her fists were clenched to hard that her nails were cutting into her skin. A set, determined look had taken over her face, and her jaw was clenched with effort, she was trembling, and attempting to hold the rising emotion back.
She needed all her energy to fight the pain, so she concentrated it all on fighting the growing feeling that she was attempting to rein back. And it was working, mostly.
She was aware of the burning pain that raged through her body. She was just ignoring it completely and her eyes were focussed on a speck of dust, not moving. That excitement seemed to have lessened, so she focussed instead on the pain of her nails biting into her palms, it was a cleaner pain that the burning, fresh and more real.
Then it subsided, didn't go, just subsided. Frankii took a great, gasping breath, upon realising that she had forgotten to breath. "Change?" she gasped out, asking if she would then change, or if she could control when her first change was.

He watched closely as all this occurred for her, the pain rising over her, the pain he never really endured, he was born what he was and not just something bitten to existence. as the blood fell from her palms he knew what it was still held hints of human blood and would draw unneeded attention with the door open so he gave a quick glance to Kriss in hoping she would catch the hint. Returning his attention to Frankii he could see the pain subsiding, it would remain but only last for a few hours, maybe less if she were lucky. when her words rasped out about her changing he knelt down closer to her, watching her, taking in her eyes to ensure that he had her attention.
Listen, you can change now if you will it, I swear to you as I said before, it will hurt, but only until it is done. Once you gain this you must watch where you do it, if you wish your family to know be my guest and change, but I heed this warning, they tell of our kind and they will be turned up missing as per the code of the Lycanths. Otherwise, you can visit them as often as you like, we have no quarrels with that. With this you must also attend our gathering to commence in a couple of days, since you're still new Kriss must keep you at her side, otherwise you might run into trouble.
He reached forward and touched her cheek carefully, he knew she would be alright in the care of Kriss, standing he allowed Kriss to move forward and for Frankii to do as she would then.

Frankii nodded at Orion's words, her breathing coing thick and heavy. The pain was still quite a bit, but it wasn't unbearable, after all, the pain that had been twice as much, Frankii hadn't uttered a word.
As a child, Frankii had never cried or anything when she fell over, or hurt herself. It was pretty much the same now. She didn't make a word when she was in pain.
Frankii sent a crooked smile in Kriss' direction, her grey eyes fixing upon her new pack leader. Then they went down and stared at her hands, which wer bleeding. She uncurled them, now used to the pain and able to ignore it. Dried, crusty blood layers her hands and there were four crescent shapes marks on each of her palms.
Okay, that pain I can handle, I was always good with pain. Time to change. Frankii thought. But how? I don't know how. Orion said it was painful. Just imagine the feeling of fur growing through your skin. When Frankii thought that, her skin prickled uncomfortably all over. So imagination is the key, huh? I guess I'm gonna be able to do this better in time.
Then, Frankii's brow was furrowed and she began thinking, imagining.
She was in pure agony fore the better past of one hour, her bones felt like they were bending, snapping, bones were morphing. It was, to say, a rather uncomfortable experience. ut she made no sound. She didn't even move that much. Shge just dealt with it, knowing that it'd end soon.
And yes, after 47 minutes, it did. And a clouded leopard stood up, breathing as if it had just come back from a long run. The clouded leopard went by the name of Frankii and was the newest member off the Paloma Pack. Frankii looked at herself and walked round in a circle, inspecting her new, second body. She wanted to express her joy in some way, but didn't know how, until a rumbling purr erupted from her throat. Guess thats how, then, huh. she thought to herself. She sat down, somewhat awkwardly as she was still getting used to it, and looked at Kriss, who was still sitting there.

Kriss sighed with relief when Frankii changed fully. She had watched the whole happening, listened as Orion explained what was happening and the rules. The reason she had called him in was because this was the first one she had ever changed, she hadn't been totally sure what to do after biting. She had been impressed when Frankii held her silence during the change, knowing the pain she was going through. But no noise had been made during the entire thing, something that was not easily done. Watching her shift, Kriss itched to go to her, but she kept her silence, knowing she had to do this on her own. Finally, another leopard sat in front of her, Frankii's clothes sitting on the floor beside her. Clouded leopards were small enough that when they shifted, the clothes just fell off, instead of ripping. Rising from her seat, she went to Frankii, placing a gentle hand on her molted head. She crouched so she was eye level with her, and issued an easy command. "Well done. You have successfully shifted. Now, you need to shift back, which is easier. We cannot leave here with you as a leopard. We need to go to your lodgings, for you will be extremely wearied by this ordeal." Kriss' attention shifted back to Orion, who was still in the room. She jerked her head towards to door, and said only one word. "Out." She cringed internally, scolding herself for ordering around the Pack Master but didn't show it. She added onto the order, to soften it. "You know how she will look when she shifts back. You need to be out of here before she does. I will get you when we are leaving, to let you know."

A weary look fell upon Kriss, she seemed so accustomed to giving him orders, he may need to work with her on that, he wasn't one to be mean but really, if she does it then everyone will. His look turned into one of a warning to her, but obligingly he turned and gave Frankii a wink before he strolled out of the room without saying a word. Who thought that it could be that easy to order around a wolf over 10,000 years old? Obviously, Kriss did, for sure, his mind turned to wondering how he could fix that. Freaking cats, think they rule everything.

Frankii stood up and walked around a bit, waiting for Kriss to finish speaking, and Orion to leave. She performed a few leaps, to test her new strength and abilities. Once Orion had left, she sat down. Feeling suddenly tired, her cat mew streached in a huge yawn. Then she worked on changing back. It was a hell of a lot less painful, hardly hurting at all, and took way less time. She just sat there, changing, she didn't writh around on the floor, she didn't even twitch, she had already adopted the cat's ability to sit there noiselessly.
It only really dawned on her, once she'd changed, that she wasn't wearing anything. With the speed at which she hurriedly dressed, it only took her about thirty seconds. She took up, having put on her last shoe, and yawned. Her shoulders were slightly slouched, from tiredness, and she was swaying slightly, blinking hazily. She closed her eyes for a few seconds, and a wave of weariness crashed over her, she almost stumbled forwards, but caught herself on the wall. Her wearied gaze fell upon Kirss, a silent question to leave.
